About the ES9

Positioning

The 2025 GAC ES9 is a five-door, mid-to-large plug-in hybrid SUV built for the Chinese market to China National VI emissions standards. It targets family and executive buyers who want three-row space and strong performance without committing to a full battery-electric vehicle. Every version shares the same powertrain: a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four (4B20J2) working with a front electric motor for a combined 373 PS and 630 N·m. Drive goes to the front wheels through a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

Trims and Body Lengths

The ES9 comes in two body lengths. The standard versions, Pro, Pro+, Max, Max+ and the New Year edition, seat seven and measure 5015 mm long, 1950 mm wide and 1780 mm tall. The Traveler Pro and Traveler Max stretch to 5110 mm long and 1976 mm wide, with six seats for more room per passenger, which suits executive shuttle and premium family use. Trim level mainly changes equipment rather than mechanicals, so buyers can choose on seating layout and feature content.
