Overview
Launched in China in September 2025, the Qin Plus DM-i Progressive Edition is a compact sedan built around BYD's DM-i plug-in hybrid system. A naturally aspirated 1.5L four-cylinder works with a 120 kW, 210 N·m electric motor through an E-CVT, sending drive to the front wheels and reaching 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
The 15.8 kWh LFP battery is rated at 128 km on the CLTC cycle and 100 km on WLTC, with WLTC combined consumption of 1.11 L/100 km. A 65 L tank keeps long trips practical where charging is sparse, which matters for buyers spread across very different infrastructure conditions.
The trade-off is driver assistance: AEB and lane keeping are not fitted. Six airbags, ESC, rear sensors and a reversing camera are standard. Beyond Autos supplies the car FOB Jebel Ali or CIF to your port. Any manufacturer warranty depends on BYD's policy in your country, so check with the local authorised dealer before you buy.
For most owners, the Qin Plus DM-i drives like an electric car on daily routes. With the LFP battery charged, the front motor handles commuting on its own, and its 210 N·m arrives instantly, making city traffic and overtaking straightforward. When the battery drops or demand rises, the 101 Ps petrol engine joins in through the E-CVT, largely as a generator and efficiency aid rather than the main source of drive. The result is smooth, quiet progress without gear changes, and a top speed of 185 km/h for open highways.
Charging flexibility suits a wide range of markets. The car accepts 15 kW fast charging, while overnight home charging covers typical daily distances. Where public chargers are limited, the petrol engine keeps the car fully usable, and the 65 L tank supports long intercity runs. A 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load function can power tools, lighting or camping equipment straight from the battery, a practical extra for fleet and private users.
The cabin is laid out for practicality at this price. Imitation-leather seats, automatic climate control, a 10.1-inch DiLink touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital cluster cover the essentials, joined by wireless phone charging, keyless start and NFC or Bluetooth digital keys. At 4,780 mm long on a 2,718 mm wheelbase, the body gives rear passengers usable legroom, and the 450 L trunk handles luggage for family or ride-hailing use. Automatic LED headlights and heated power mirrors are fitted as standard.
Ownership planning deserves a moment. The car comes without advanced driver assistance, so buyers in markets that require AEB or lane keeping for registration should confirm local rules first. Infotainment software is designed around the Chinese market, which is worth considering for language and app compatibility. Beyond Autos sells the vehicle new, FOB Jebel Ali with your own forwarder or CIF with ocean freight and marine insurance arranged to your port. Beyond Autos does not provide a warranty. Coverage depends on BYD's policy in your country, so confirm terms with the local authorised dealer.
