Export Toyota Corolla to Ghana
Primary port
Tema
Transit time
18–28 days
Most buyers ship the Toyota Corolla to Ghana via RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off), which is the standard and most economical choice for West African ports. RoRo works well for the Corolla's compact sedan profile and suits the high volume of vehicle traffic into Ghana. Some importers use 20-foot containers, particularly when consolidating multiple units or combining the Corolla with spare parts and accessories, but RoRo typically offers better per-unit pricing and faster vessel scheduling from Jafza.
Both methods depart regularly from Jebel Ali; your freight forwarder will advise which suits your timeline and budget. RoRo vessels tend to fill faster on the Gulf-to-West Africa route, so lead times are often shorter.
Shipping from Jebel Ali to Tema Port (Ghana's primary container and general cargo facility, serving the Accra region) typically takes 18 to 28 days, depending on vessel routing, weather, and port congestion. Most shipments arrive within the mid-range of that window. Tema is the main discharge point for imported vehicles into Ghana and connects directly to customs clearance facilities.
Once your Corolla reaches Tema, plan for 3–7 days of port processing and Ghanaian customs inspection before you can collect the vehicle. Your freight forwarder should coordinate all documentation with Ghana's National Automotive Regulatory Authority and ensure duties and import taxes are properly calculated.
Your Toyota Corolla will arrive with the original factory keys, owner's manuals, service booklets, and the international Certificate of Origin. The vehicle is delivered in export condition with a full tank of fuel and will have passed Jafza pre-export inspection.
Ghana requires the original Bill of Lading, commercial invoice, and packing list for customs clearance. Your forwarder handles these; confirm they also secure the vehicle's specifications sheet and engine/chassis documentation, which Ghanaian customs may request during inspection. Once cleared, the Corolla is ready for local registration with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
